…taking a different approach

Prestige Sound Southampton is a front of house live audio engineering specialist - taking a different approach to other PA providers. Launched in 2020, Prestige had two goals: to provide high quality and sensibly priced FOH and Engineer consistency for theatre based Tribute Shows; and to create much needed work for a graduate Engineer.

Prestige occupies a unique space in the PA provider and Live Sound Engineer market - providing a experienced and educated Audio Engineers with a passion for production sounds to work directly with tribute shows and bands - and we have as much experience as musicians and event organisers as we do Engineers. This gives us a unique perspective on what you and your musicians need for a successful show, and from a professional Front of House team.

Prestige Sound places an emphasis on just that: a prestigious sound using a sophisticated combination of Presonus' mixing systems; computer based effects powered by Gig Performer; and a bright and punchy Yamaha DXR PA to deliver it - all run by a professional and educated Audio Engineer who places a special emphasis on production sound, comfort of the band and audience experience.

We're committed to providing a first class client experience through enquiry, booking and performance - exactly what we would expect if we were hiring a production company.

Prestige focuses on developing relationships with live music performances of all types and sizes, and we are also available for public address, parties, community fetes, small community festivals and beyond.

Dave Phillips
Audio Engineer

Dave has been working in the music industry, full time, since 1998 and continues to be one of the busiest musicians working in the UK today. Alongside managing Prestige Sound, he manages and performs in sell-out tribute shows in theatres across the UK, alongside producing singer/songwriters at his studio "White Room" in Southampton as well as writing his own music.

Dave graduated School of Sound Recording as an Audio Engineer in 2003, completed his Bachelor of Arts in 2013 with a 1st with Honours and has most recently completed a Law Degree with University of Law!

Alongside industry work, he has spent his years lecturing Advanced Audio Engineering for Point Blank International Music School and Academy of Music, and develops FE and HE courses in Audio Production. He is also a Certified Trainer for Avid and a Certified Expert in Pro Tools, training Audio Engineers across the country in the professional use of the industry standard recording software Pro Tools.

Furthermore, you will also find Dave on Youtube as Host of Pro Tools Answers - a show that teaches Pro Tools technique alongside two of Avid's Master Instructors.

Dave's experience as a producing and performing musician is unsurpassed in the local industry and it gives him the uniquest of perspectives as an engineer - knowing what the musicians need on stage, understanding the wants of the show runners, and understanding that audiences want a lush, energetic sound and immersive sound. As a business owner and a student of Law, he's acutely aware of the level of service he wants to provide his customers, aiming to exceed expectations and meet promises.

CB
Audio Engineer

CB is a recent Audio Engineering graduate of Bournemouth University, and has already been working in the industry professionally for a number years, and particularly through his studies.

He's a talented studio engineer and musician, and working consistently in the live engineering and performing field with a number of shows and originals projects. We're very proud to be able to be making work for a graduate, one of the core Prestige values, and we're glad that he's connecting with our clients when he goes out on their shows.

We're currently looking for long term opportunities for CB, working with established and emerging shows.
